Temperature Controls
Subfreezing temperatures can damage and/or degrade plants, glues, pharmaceuticals, wine, food, and batteries. We take Freeze Protection very seriously, and urge our customers not to use a discount agent with your cold sensitive freight. Not all carriers offer true freeze protection or understand the that a 2 Degree variance can decrease the shelf life of perishable goods by as much as 50%.
Things to Consider
- Freeze Protection services are only offered for commodities with a freezing point of 32F or lower.
- We may suspend Freeze Protection during times of extreme cold when temperatures drop below 10F.
- There may be weight and accessorial restrictions such as a required delivery appointment.
- We may refuse shipment when weather forecast or prevailing road conditions indicate road closures.
